We have two types of Dining Experiences: PLANCHA DINING (Where our Chefs cook at your table) and STANDARD DINING.

Descanso is a modern taqueria in that we celebrate authentic Mexican flavors and recipes executed in a lively setting that brings in the flavors, smells, sounds and energy of a busy Mexican town.

Types of Dining:

PLANCHA
At a Plancha Table, you will receive an intimate experience with our Planchero Chefs. This is a multi-course menu where your meal is cooked in front of you at your table! Please go to our DESCANSO - LOS ANGELES - PLANCHA DINING Open Table page to make a reservation.

STANDARD DINING
Make a reservation here for our indoor dining room or patio.

TACO BAR
The Taco Bar (Counter) is an a la carte version of the Plancha Experience where one of our chefs cooks in front of you at a counter top.

A 15-minute wait to be seated (even with a reservation), a 10-minute wait to have my drink order taken, and another 10 minutes for the drink to arrive. By the time my chips and salsa arrived (ordered at the same time as my drink but delayed by another 5-10 minutes), it was close to 45 minutes after my reservation time before was able to take a bite of anything. I wanted to be forgiving, since this was Valentine’s Day and I understand how busy a night it is, but the icing on the cake was the kitchen ignoring or forgetting my request for no cilantro on my tacos, so I spent a chunk of my meal picking cilantro pieces off and having a mild allergic reaction nonetheless. The tacos were heavy on the toppings, light on protein, and almost impossible to fold and eat handheld. The meal was extremely affordable and reasonably priced, but aside from that value proposition, the experiencing was so disheartening. I won’t be returning, despite being so excited to visit.

Business is in the beginning stage. Staff is courteous and professional although inattentive and slow. They will be better in subsequent trips. Overall this place is a viable alternative to the usual Mexican cuisine

Restaurant is stunning. Host at front door not very welcoming and looked confused. Drinks were tasty ceviche app was too sweet. Had the lobster seems like for the price they should include some rice and beans. Husband had to wait for his beer and they didn’t bring it until after his dinner. Our waiter was nice. I think overall they need to hire more waiters and have more people at the bar so you are not waiting so long for drinks.

Great beunch with friends un a beautiful spqce. They've really upgraded the decor from when it was a Marie Callender's and the food was also on point.

The pozole was good but my pork belly taco was chewy not tender and the spicy level on salsas are so weak it sad.

It was my birthday dinner and I ordered the sea bass. It was not edible. The fish tasted very fishy and it was completely overcooked. It was very dry. So the server took it back. The restaurant prepared the dish again a second time. This time it was raw inside. So I had to take it home to cook it. My partner ordered the pozole soup and it was very bland. The salsa was bland too. I returned home and had a bowl of cereal.

Good food at a higher level than typical Mexican restaurants in LA. Large menu. Pretty atmosphere with plenty of space.

Extremely slow and inattentive service. The only thing we received timely was our check. I will not be returning
