I really don’t like to leave bad reviews and I almost never do but Hammer & Nail was over the top last night. The quick version was the server who was nice, didn’t seem to know what to do. Service was very slow and disorganized. The food was marginal and some was flavorless and the bartender “ran out of ingredients” and gave us different drinks than we ordered - without even mentioning it. The menu only had 10-12 items and it was printed on copy paper and hand cut to size. The employees tried pretty hard but things just went poorly. It was a bad overall experience and was not inexpensive. If this is a typical experience, they won’t be around long.

There was not enough help and the staff was incompetent. They did not communicate, half our sushi did not come after 2 hours waiting for it, they mixed up drink orders that took forever to get. It was not a good experience

The staff and service were very friendly and welcoming. The drinks were perfectly crafted and tasted. The sushi rolls were some of the best and most unique, especially the asparagus and truffle roll. Will definitely visit again and will recommend this place to others

I felt like it was lacking the “vibe” as described, but in a couple weeks they’re starting live music at night and I do think that would give it the “vibe” we were missing. I think it’s a nice establishment, looks cool, but with the MCM atmosphere I think the piped in music could be cocktail jazz, or a really fun and interesting genre from that era that folks could talk about, rather than the oldies playing when we were there.

Went on a second date here and the server was very nice. Place had a very cool vibe and would definitely go again.
