Our experience was consistent with many other reviewers. The staff gives the impression this is their first day on the job with no training. The food was ok but not great. The best things about this place are the decor and ambiance, and the location adjacent to the theater. Management takes advantage of that by acting like the monopoly that they effectively have. It is an absolute shame that management is so brazenly arrogant.
Some examples. I ordered a beer, not even a draft, and they didn't bring it until the end of the meal. He brought the wrong beer even though I had clearly told the waitress I wanted the Elissa IPA multiple times. I stopped him just before he opened it because he had already messed up earlier so I figured I'd save him from having to give me a free beer and get me the right one. My wife's cocktail took almost as long.
Meanwhile, my 84 year old mother in law ordered a glass of wine, and they brought a bottle out. I stopped him before he opened it and clearly told him we only ordered one glass. He acknowledged that and said the rest was on the house, and poured us multiple glasses. Every person in our party heard this conversation clearly. There was no misunderstanding. Note that he took the rest of the bottle away. Later, lo and behold, they changed us for a whole bottle. I explained to the waitress what had happened. She was flustered, left, and came back, didn't seem to believe me, but politely changed the charge to a glass like we had ordered.
I had the chicken with marsala which was about as good as you could get at Luby's, and nowhere near as food as Carrabba's.
