Where to start? At the hostess stand, the two ladies were not welcoming at all. When they finally found our reservation, they merely pointed us into the dining room and said go right. Well, I'm pretty sure I could've done that myself.
Moving on... water was not forthcoming. Neither was a server. When she arrived (and I could not tell you her name since she didn't tell us), she explained that she was very busy. Ok. Could we get some water? And we'd like to order some wine. When she finally came back to take that order, we understood that we needed to order our entrees whenever she was there again. We explained that, likely like many others in there, we had tickets to the show. Our server informed us that the main singer wouldn't go on until 9pm so we had plenty of time. Never mind that we might want to go to the bar before the show, use the restrooms, and/or see the opening act before the main event. And isn't that our decision? So. Weird. We had a 6pm reservation for a reason!
Is the wine coming? Is it not coming? Never mind about the wine but I see other tables with bread, could we have some too please? Well, apparently not because that never came either. I ordered a steak and finally had to walk over to the bar to ask for a steak knife.
Honestly, the food was all good. I can't fault the kitchen for anything. But the service is crazy bad. When I asked for the check, she had it with her (that's good) and it was correct (that's good too). But for as much time as she spent walking past our table, that was the point at which our server decided to stay right at my side (literally) while I decided the tip. I can only say that I'm glad that the restaurant does not add an automatic gratuity to parties of four because we really did not have time to argue but I would have.
This is a shame. It's a beautiful restaurant and the kitchen is doing it's job well. The front of the house needs some serious Give A Damn and they just do not have it.
