“Top Steakhouses in America” Maxim Magazine and Playboy, and featured in the Wall Street Journal, Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse serves straightforward prime steaks with a New Orleans touch. Signature dishes and sides include: The House Filet (served with masa flash-fried Louisiana oysters), Tomato Blue Cheese Napoleon, Pontalba Potatoes, and a Roasted Sweet Potato with Creole Pecan Butter. The house favorite dessert is a toss up between the Coconut Cake with a chiffon buttercream and the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding—so go ahead and order both.

    The food was good, certainly not the best steakhouse I have ever been to but okay. The service was not good, especially for a nicer restaurant. It took well over half an hour to get our drinks, then an hour into being there before we saw just the appetizers. We had to ask numerous times to have glasses and dishes cleared from the table, just the very basic rules of not just fine dining service, just service in general! Our server was friendly; it feels like a management and training problem. If you have limited time in New Orleans like we did, don’t waste a meal here.

    The steaks were of the best quality and the service was superior. We will definitely be returning. My ribeye was like butter and tasted phenomenal.

    Very nice place and tremendous service and good (not great) main dish. The Caesar Salad was really great and probably the best one I’ve ever had. The baked oysters were okay, but the main dish filet was a big disappointment. Served with a very good baked potato, the filet was charred on the outside and overcooked inside. It was not juicy and tender and for the price, it should have been everything. I would probably go back and be more selective in my order and maybe avoid the steaks.

    Food was not very good, for the price especially. Flavorless steak, fatty, overcooked vegetables, dry creamed spinach. Great mashed potatoes, however. Came for Prime Rib night and told they sold out in 1 hour!!! Why advertise a special when you are open 5 hours and can only serve your special for 1 hour????? At least say “while supplies last.” Don’t come to have a steak.
