The wait staff, manager and owner all have WONDERFUL personalities! The service all around was top notch! Definitely worth the 20% added gratuity. I do think with the popularity of the restaurant, the owner will outgrow the space and need a larger building. Which is a great problem to have so I'm happy for him!
The food was hit and miss. My friends enjoyed their catfish po' boys, which one po' boy was ordered after one of my friend and I didn't care for the Bayou Bowl. She sent hers back, I stuck with mine after having the waitress bring me a catfish fillet to add to my bowl. The problem with the bowl was that the shrimp was so tiny. We expected the jumbo shrimp that's same size as the fried shrimp platter. The shrimp was much smaller. The salmon bites were just chunks and the crab meat was just there on the side. The bowl is loaded with more rice than meat. Not to mention the shrimp and salmon was not seared or seasoned with cajun flavor. It felt more like a hibachi bowl without the veggies. For the Bayou Bowl price tag, I'd make it worthwhile by using jumbo shrimp, seared or blackened, sear the salmon bites, swap the crab meat for crawfish tails and the long grain rice for dirty rice. Maybe even add a couple crab fingers or catfish fillet. Even if you have to treat the catfish as an uncharge for profit margins. This would be a more suitable version of a Bayou bowl. Oh and keep the oyster sauce because it's very good. Other items that were good were the chargrilled oysters and crab rolls. We enjoyed our drinks as well, strong and good. I had the peach flavored Bayou Punch. I'm a drinking vet and had a whole buzz. We will definitely give D'Juan's another shot due to the service. We'll just try some other items or stick with the po boys.
