A Chicago-based, award winning restaurant and bar institution since 2009, DMK Burger Bar was launched following a year-long expedition across America to find the best burgers in the USA by 5-times James Beard nominated Chef Michael Kornick. DMK offers everything fresh - 100% grass-fed beef, bison, all-natural chicken, house-seasoned turkey and salmon burgers, and a veggie burger made in house with 12 vegetables, grains and beans. In addition to a Build Your Own option, DMK offers 12 chef-created gourmet burgers served on fresh artisan buns (pretzel, gluten free, rye, and lettuce also available). Menu includes fresh chicken wings with house-made sauces, fresh hand-breaded chicken strips, fresh hand-cut fries, appetizers, salads, soups, hand-dipped premium ice cream shakes (and boozy options), mixologist created cocktails, local craft beers, house-made sodas and Coca-Cola products. The menu includes Jr. combo meals and happy hour features during weekdays.

We went at 7pm on a Friday night. Plenty of tables available, yet still seemed understaffed. I watched lots of people stand at the front door waiting a full three or four minutes to be seated, and the bar was taking ten minutes for our drinks each time. Need to hire some more people! Food was OK. They were out of the two fries I wanted which was half the point of going.

We had a reservation. There were very few tables filled with people. We waited for 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us and then seat us. There were dirty glasses all over the bar. We did not get good service. It just seemed very poorly run.

Great food and service was excellent. We had a bison burger and chrispy chicken sandwich. Bison burger was excellent and chicken sandwich was huge and very tasty. We will definitely go back.

Just wasn't a great experience - servers were not very attentive and the restaurant wasn't full. I've had great experiences at DMK before and this one just was not up to par. Looking forward to it being better service next time.
