We met up with old friends at Dockside1953 for an anniversary celebration. The atmosphere around the fire pit table was impressive and kept us warm during the evening. The service was excellent and not rushed at all. Our server was always on cue when pouring our wines and bringing the next drink. The food was outstanding. Both my friend and I had the filet mignon. We're both meat connoisseurs, and the steak here was the best I've had at any restaurant (or elsewhere for that matter). My buddy is a San Diego resident (I'm from Canada), and he'd never eaten here before. Dockside 1953 has become his new favorite restaurant. Our wives had the chicken and drugstore burger and loved it. Highly recommend.

Our waiter was extremely slow and did not check on us, we had to waive him down a few times. Food was average, but the patio was very nice. There were nice heaters for a cold evening.

The food was excellent. The service outstanding. Kind people, lovely atmosphere. We should have sat outside but thought it t be too chilly but the design and the heaters in that space would have been sufficient. Will definitely return, even if it is just to have that lamb again. Very yummy.

Dockside 1953 made my golden birthday an unforgettable experience! The exceptional service by Victor took everything to the next level, making us feel both welcomed and celebrated. Every dish, from the perfectly prepared filet and tender chicken to the delicious bread service and exquisite shrimp cocktail, was true fine dining. Dockside’s ambiance, overlooking the serene Mission Bay, completed the experience. I couldn’t have asked for a better evening—highly recommend for any special occasion!
