   We started off with a great waitress, but midway through the evening, someone else took over—and that’s when the experience went downhill. The new server was rude and made us feel rushed. We were celebrating a birthday, and yet none of the staff acknowledged it or seemed to have read the notes we included in the reservation. The server, who was wearing a matching white set and had long hair, came over and asked if we were ready to go. We told her we were done with our current plates, expecting her to at least offer us the dessert menu—but instead, we had to prompt her ourselves. While we were still eating our dessert, she brought the bill and payment machine to the table without saying a word, and even took our dessert plates away without asking if we were finished. Not once did she check in to see how we were doing. The service was truly terrible. It was only 9:10 PM when this happened, and our reservation was for 8:15 PM—so it’s not like we overstayed. We felt extremely rushed and left feeling unhappy.

   Great food. Service was attentive to start but sort of fell off near the end. Had to sit with empty/dirty plates for a bit

   Loved our serves and the food was incredible! The girl who brought us to our table was not very kind or open and kind of just rolled her eyes when we told her we had a reservation, but everyone inside was fantastic and super kind

   My fav pasta is mushroom one. I really love it. The lemon tiramisu I ordered was really delicious but it wasn’t quite like traditional tiramisu, it was more like a cake The lemon tiramisu should be called a cake instead

   We absolutely love everything about Dovetail. The food is amazing, the staff attentive without being overbearing and the room is absolutely lovely. We are lucky to be able to come to Vancouver every 4 to 5 weeks and a lunch at Dovetail is a must do each and every time.

   The food, ambiance and service at Dovetail is excellent. The shareable portion sizes are perfect. The 4 of us shared the chicken, shrimp, Brussels & potato appetizer which were all absolutely delicious.
