Welcome to Down the Hatch - EDINBURGH!

We are a diner focusing on diner style food with big flavour, fresh ingredients, huge taste and all things Canadian!!

Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult and are not permitted from 8pm onwards.

We have a 10 minute grace period for your booking. Please give us a call if you are running late for your booking.

Your table will be booked for 1 hour 15 minutes for bookings of up to 6 people; and 1 hour 45 minutes for bookings of 7+.

We have a limited number of outside tables. These are not bookable at the moment and are on a first come, first served basis.

Last bookings are 9.15pm as our kitchen closes at 9.45pm, 7 days a week.

First time I’ve been here and I will be back again, service from Megan and the gentleman behind the bar was exemplary and the food was superb, I had a buffalo chicken sando and it was so filling, can’t wait to come back ☺️

Excellent service, very nice vibe to the place. Food which tasted great and many items on the menu that I’ll need to come back to try next time.

We have had a few meals here and it's consistently good. When we arrived yesterday we were told they were a little short staffed and to bear with them. This was good as it managed our expectations. However, the service was still as good as ever and the food delicious. Would definitely recommend

Disappointed with frozen cocktail, was £9 and it arrived in a kids plastic cup. GOAT burger wasn’t up to much, couldn’t really call it a burger the patty was about 1/2 inch thick. Also couldn’t pay with cash. Was looking forward to my meal but overall was disappointed. Service was non existent

If you like comfort food then please please come visit this place!! Had a buffalo chicken grilled cheese sandwich and wow it was tremendous, my wife had the beef sandwich with the dipping sauce which was also awesome, staff really friendly and attentive without being in your face.
