Originally opened in 2005, Garrett Harker’s flagship restaurant has reopened its doors just up Beacon St. only three blocks from its original location. Eastern Standard continues to offer seasonally focused New England interpretations of classic brasserie fare, including raw bar and charcuterie, nostalgic favorites like steak tartare, baked rigatoni, steak frites, and butterscotch bread pudding, and some new soon-to-be-instant-classic dishes. Cocktail legend Jackson Cannon has crafted a beverage menu that features an array of craft cocktails both new and classic, a curated selection of wines, and craft beers from near and far.

    Went to Eastern Standard for the first time for a Valentines dinner having heard good things. Though it was decent, it did not live up to the hype I was hearing. The server was friendly, but overall, the service was very slow for a relatively relaxed night. Our food was okay. The burger was good and fairly priced, though the accompanying fries were really salty. The monkfish bouillabaisse for $38 was not a favorite. The sauce was bland and the portion somewhat small. Disappointing. I don’t think it deserves hate, but I won’t be returning to Eastern Standard and won’t be recommending others to do so as well being there’s much better eats in Boston for less.

    What’s treat! Comfy, cosy, great brasserie vibe and fun menu. Cocktails delish. Lobster gnocchi pillowy soft and flavorful. Def coming back!

    I had a lovely father daughter dinner with my 13-year-old. The food was prepared perfectly. It was delicious. The menu was full of great choices. I had the oysters and the sirloin steak. Both were perfection. My daughter had the hamburger and the shrimp cocktail. Also both perfect.

    We really enjoyed our meal at Eastern Standard. The service was impeccable, universally warm and friendly, and knowledgeable. A++ The food was also very good. My husband’s Caesar salad was “awesome” - very cheesy and generous, and his steak frites was tender and flavorful with excellent frites. My salt cod fritters were stylishly presented and the Saturday special short ribs were delicious with outstanding potato puree and sauce.

    Everything was great! The food and the service were amazing! The only negative thing I have to say is that the music was way too loud and it was packed in there, so there was a lot of noise.
