I’ve never written a bad review in my life but I was most disappointed with this experience.
I was really looking forward to dining at East Side Bar & Grill for Valentine’s Day, but unfortunately, the experience left me feeling quite deflated.
To start, we waited an hour just for our starters, which was already frustrating. When they finally arrived, the prawn dish was extremely underwhelming—there was barely any prawn to actually eat, and for the price, I expected much more.
My boyfriend and I decided to upgrade to the Tomahawk steak for an additional $30 per person, assuming it would be a generous and satisfying portion. However, we were left feeling disappointed and still hungry. The plate was mostly fat, and realistically, there was barely enough steak for one person, let alone both of us. We love eating steak out, but this was one of the most disappointing we’ve had, especially considering the price.
The only redeeming part of the meal was the dessert, which I genuinely enjoyed. But overall, I left feeling like I could have had a much better experience elsewhere for the same (or even less) money. To add to the frustration, my glass of wine was taken away before I had finished, and I had to ask for it back—mistakes happen, but it just added to the overall letdown of the evening.
For a special occasion like Valentine’s Day, I was expecting a great meal and a memorable experience, but instead, I walked away feeling like I had wasted my money. I honestly wish I had just stayed at home and cooked something I actually enjoyed.
