I recently visited Eataly Nj expecting a high-end dining experience, but I left feeling disappointed by the service and staff training. For a place that boasts an upscale reputation, I anticipated knowledgeable staff and seamless service, but the reality fell short. Sad - because I have been raving about it to family and friends - embarrassing.
The waitstaff appeared unfamiliar with the menu, struggling to answer basic questions about ingredients and dish recommendations. In a fine-dining establishment, I expect servers to have a thorough understanding of the menu, including preparation details and flavor profiles. Instead, there was visible confusion, and the staff had to repeatedly check with the kitchen for answers.
Additionally, the service felt disorganized, indicating poor training and management oversight. Incorrect dishes were brought to the table, and it took far too long to correct these mistakes.
While the ambiance and food were up to par, the lack of well-trained staff undermines the entire experience. High-end dining is about more than just the food—it’s about impeccable service. Unfortunately, eataly needs to seriously address their training and management if they want to justify their reputation and pricing.
