Welcome to El Cerdo Bourne End!

Spanish tapas doesn’t compromise on passion or flavour. Every dish at El Cerdo is crafted to be a unique experience that brings friends and family together.

Please note, all table bookings are for two hours. However, later table bookings from 7:30pm onwards are given the table until close.

Our Bourne End restaurant welcomes dogs to our side terrace only, to accommodate any guests that may have allergies. Please note this terrace is heated, but uncovered, and we are unfortunately unable to move guests with dogs inside the restaurant or on our from terrace in cases of poor weather.

First time here after a year of saying we would come! Could not recommend enough. Amazing cocktails and amazing food. Service was top notch. The chef came out to greek us and asl if we'd had a great time. Music was great and created a great atmosphere. Will be back!!

Maybe because of the St Valentine’s meal offer, the experience was a bit disappointing this time. We had to wait 50 minutes to get seated, and the place was too crowded to enjoy. Ok, the staff was polite, the food very good. They let us finish our meal during closing time without interruption, so we will visit again. But never when they have an offer, that was a bad idea of the restaurant. They would have been full anyway, what was the point in that…

Hi Vassilis, Thank you for visiting us to celebrate Valentine's Day. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed our Spanish food, and that you were looked after by our staff. We are, however, sorry to hear about your wait to be seated. This is not our usual service, as we were extremely busy, under-staffed and without our Area Manager for the weekend. Your comments have been taken on board, and we will be working with the rest of the team to improve going forwards. I’m afraid of Valentine’s night was a flop for us. We arrived and had to wait 10 minutes to be greeted. Once at our table we were left for around 30 minutes until someone took our drinks order which never arrived. We waited for 45 minutes with no food or drink, the staff were quite obviously busy but there were no smiles at all from them. It was a disappointment. We decided to leave as we knew we weren’t going to be eating until very late. The couple next to us had only just had their starter delivered and they had been there for one hour longer than us. We went to another local restaurant, were greeted straight away and our drinks were given to us pretty much straight away. We ordered and our food came within a very good amount of time (by this time it was around 9:30pm). More motivated staff needed, and more staff training. Maybe they took on too many covers. NB. I had to guess re review of food as we didn’t eat.

Hi A, We are terribly sorry to hear about the poor service you received on Valentine’s night. Our director has already spoken with you and has assured you that this is not our usual service. Our staff receive frequently excellent reviews on their professionalism, and they are normally very happy, friendly and smiling. Unfortunately, on this occasion, we were extremely busy, short staffed and without our Area Manager. As discussed with our director, our Area Manager is going to call you directly upon his return from annual leave. We appreciate your patience as we investigate this matter and await the return of our Area Manager. El Cerdo Team

We had a lovely evening with excellent food and service. If there is one criticism the portions are very small even by tapas standards and the prices were more like central London than Bourne end.

First time here and everything was amazing. From Ricardo the manager. Very personable, chatty and friendly. The staff were amazing, two young ladies, Olivia and I can’t remember the other. But both were an absolute credit to the restaurant. The food was delicious and even though its tapas there was enough to keep us both full. The atmosphere was perfect with good music playing just loud enough to not hear everyone else’s conversations. Lighting was dim to keep it intimate. Will definitely be back in the summer as apparently they have a terrace that opens up to over the look the river in the sunshine.

We enjoyed the prawns and the octopus with potato bravas. My octopus had sweet potato & sugar snap peas delicious

The kitchen and menu choice are excellent. Service can be variable but has been good recently. And of course it is a great location.
