In 1983, after the success of La Calle Doce, Oscar and Laura Sanchez wanted to open another restaurant but they didn’t want to duplicate their previous success nor did they want to open just another Tex-Mex restaurant. Oscar wanted something that wasn’t found in Dallas, something that reminded him of home. Since both Oscar and Laura are from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon in Northern Mexico, they decided to open a restaurant that specialized in Comida Norteño (northern food) and Tex-Mex featuring dishes such as cabrito, mollejas, and asado de puerco. Today El Ranchito is known for it’s authentic Mexican food, freshly made tortillas and festive atmosphere where mariachis play daily. These elements – the food, the music and the friendly staff – have helped El Ranchito achieve it’s ultimate goal of creating an atmosphere where the customer feels as if they are back home in Monterrey.

Do not miss El Ranchito!! Our fav Mexican restaurant in Arlington and Fort Worth! Why? The food! Amazing choices for authentic Tex-Mex to those who prefer authentic Mexican food. Fresh, made in house, full of flavor! The MOLE!! Outstanding! Even the rice is full of flavor. Enchiladas, burrito, and pork tacos all thumbs up at our table. The service !! Oh my! Attentive, not overbearing, friendly, knowledgeable of menu. The manager, Juan, sets the perfect mood for guests. Seating: several rooms to choose from if you want away from the crowds. This is a must try restaurant !

We went for lunch- waitress was attentive as well as manager- had a slight mixup on the food order but was quickly corrected. The chili Relleno was good flavor & so was tomatillo sauce - will return

The food was OK, don’t expect to be wowed and feel like this is amazing Mexican. I had fajitas with beef, the beef was very chewy & salty. The tortillas were cold and the salsa was ok.
