Booked this restaurant for my birthday as my wife and I had never been here, this was our first time. I am an avid aviation lover and work in the aviation field. The website states specifically the following: “Situated overlooking an airstrip, you can enjoy watching planes and helicopters take off, land, or taxi right up near your table. That’s surely something you don’t see every day.” WRONG. This is not quite what they seem to make it out to be. I thought going here on a Friday evening would be active, but there was one single plane that just flew circles doing “touch and goes” at the beginning of the runway, which I will say is NOWHERE NEAR the restaurant. So the aviation factor was a complete bust.
Now for the food and service. To start it out, Gavin, our server, rang in one of our appetizers wrong. Luckily the gentleman running the food for him was able to remedy the situation quickly. Secondly, my wife got a refill on her drink, which came in a glass that had a dirty, greasy film on the inside of the glass. Luckily she saw that before taking a drink, because Gavin did not even check the glass before making her drink. After pointing this out to him, I watched him go to the drink station and pull another glass from the same rack, and he DIDN’T CHECK THIS ONE EITHER. When this glass got to the table, it was also dirty and greasy. When told about it, instead of pulling that rack of glasses to be washed, he just left them there for other customers. My wife and I both ordered salads for before our meal, both of which never showed. My wife and I both had a filet, mine was 8oz and hers was 6oz. Hers somehow was about a quarter the size of mine. There’s no way it was 6oz. The steaks tasted “ok” at best, and the sides were just warm enough to be edible, but by this time, the service was so horrible I didn’t even want to speak with management, I just wanted to leave.
Lastly, take cash. This “fine establishment” charges a $5 fee if you use a card. The bill was $150.
