Elliott's has a New York restaurant vibe with liquor bottles lining the wall above the bar. Our waiter showed up after 15 minutes at our table to inquire about drinks. Neither of us drank so he took the drink menus and didn't reappear for another 15-20 minutes. He asked if we wanted an appetizer, soup, salad - we said No we were ready to order, which we did. I asked him if there was a special and was told it had sold out. I felt as if the waiter was a robot. I ordered the $70 steak medium rare and it came partially medium rare the other, rare and not much flavor. It required cutting with a steak knife and was tender and lean.My husband had the scallops which were the best we've ever eaten. Excellent - highly recommend... My friend ordered the Seafood Pasta and loved it - all of it was perfect. Our asparagus was cooked exactly right and was replaced when they forgot to save our leftovers. Thank you for that. Our carrot cake was out standing - so highly recommend. it as well. We refilled our own glasses with our bottle of Pellegrino which surprised me that the waiters didn't do that for us at this high level of establishment. Maybe because it was 12/23 & short staffed but the wait staff didn't seem to communicate well. Our waiter did not give recommendations, ask what we were interested in, just took our order. As a gal who supported herself through college and after graduation as a waitress 40 years ago he totally missed the mark I expected at a classy place like Elliott's. The manager was gracious and we appreciated the Asparagus replacement.. Recommend going when it's not so busy and get the Scallops - In fact, would prefer a Scallop dinner option to just and Appetizer option.
