Nestled between East Austin neighborhoods, Este celebrates fresh seafood, Mexican cuisine, and charcoal cooking. From the team behind the East 6th favorite, Suerte, Chef Fermin and restaurateur Sam Hellman-Mass are taking their love for masa coastal.

OpenTable美食編輯： From 2024 James Beard semifinalist and acclaimed Suerte chef Fermín Núñez, this chill seafood spot is all about mariscos—think shrimp aguachiles, tuna tiradito, and oysters splashed with salsa negra. The light and airy space features white rafters and hanging plants, and happy hour spills out onto a big back deck. All of it landed Este on Bon Appétit and Esquire’s best new restaurant lists in 2023.

    Join us for an evening centered around a mariscos-inspired tasting menu led by Chef de Cuisine Ale Kuri in collaboration with Executive Chef Fermin Nunez! This specially curated menu highlights 5 savory courses, followed by dessert from Pastry Chef Derrick Flynn. Elevate your experience with custom beverage pairings featuring wine, mezcal, and signature cocktails, or explore Este’s extensive drink selection. There will be two seatings available: 5:30 pm & 8 pm | $125 per person A $75 deposit is required to reserve your spot at each seating at the time of booking. The remaining balance will be due at the end of your experience. Limited seating is available and subject to sell out. Provechito!

    Our party of four decided to go with the recommended small plates to share. Our waiter did a nice job of describing the dishes and making suggestions. The chips and salsa that they start with are unique and very delicious. Here are my reviews of our order: Tuna Tiradito-the bluefin tuna was lovely however it was covered in something that was too vinegary/oily and overpowered the delicate taste of the tuna. Este Ceviche-this was delicious with plenty on the plate. Veggies del Jardin-pretty nice, but the sour cream sauce they were floating in was not a good companion for these roasted root vegetables. Tamal de Camote-this was like a fat tamale, covered in an interesting sauce that was flavorful. Cochinita Pibil-the meat was very dry. A better rendering of this can be found at Fonda San Miguel restaurant. Camerones “El Ricas”-don’t bother with this. They tell you you can eat the whole thing, but come on! Who wants to eat a spiny shell. There was very little actual meat on this and that was dry. All things considered, I would not return to this restaurant because the prices are quite high in the food was not so great.

    The food was amazing but we were bothered by the time limit that was not shared with us beforehand. Dinners are for staying around the table and enjoying food and drinks but we were rushed out for the next reservation. Restaurants should not assume people will only stay for a certain amount of time.

    Amazing from start to finish. Super personable and helpful waitstaff who helped us figure out the menu and must-have items. Vibe was lively but also intimate. Every dish was the best version of that I’ve ever had. Tuna Tiridito was crunchy and creamy. Fish tacos light and fresh. Zarandeado was a knockout - smoky. Guava cheesecake was rich, but with a good textural balance with the candied pepitas. Can’t wait to come back

    Upscale Mexican restaurant with a focus on fish. We enjoyed the food and cocktails and like to take advantage of happy hour offerings - which were really good value. Nice atmosphere, really attentive service and valet parking. Good for sharing plates, but wish there were a couple more vegetable or salad options on the menu.

    The food is great - highly recommend going to a happy hour so you can try a variety of menu items. I personally thought the service was a little slow/confusing which became a distractor for me.
