Lamar J. Moore, the beloved, Chicago-based, chef, has manifested a vision of elevated Southern cuisine in a Northern city where the bulk of the Black American community has direct Southern ancestry and roots. Soil was rich and ready for the unique warmth of his ideas. The opening team of etc. has created a space, menu, beverage program, and flow of service that is simultaneously down-home and adventurous, and as intriguing and challenging as it is familiar Our mission is to bring a high level of experience, taste, and cocktails to the loop/printers row, family-style and without any pretension.

                                                      Familiar to the area a nice compliment to the loop! Ambiance was calm and relaxing. Staff was helpful and made sure we not only understood the menu but also knew what cocktails would best suit the starters and entrees. 10 out of 10! Look forward to coming back very soon.

                                                      Food was amazing. Chef Lamar had a wonderful selection available for the soft opening. We had the beef tartare with chicken skins (highly recommend), the fried green tomato with burrata, the half chicken, and salmon. We each had two cocktails, one of which had fat washed mezcal to mellow out the after sting. My only note is we realized in hindsight our drinks were not that strong. Overall, amazing experience!

                                                      10/10 experience! The freshness of the food, the flavors, the price point, the ambience, the cocktails. Everything was so thoughtfully and intentionally created. Loved it !

                                                      I enjoyed the food and would prefer the meats (Beef Tartare and Salmon) to have more of a southern appeal with flavor/seasoning. Our waiter Connor was very personable and had great recommendations for the cocktails and dessert. I will definitely come back to try more from the menu. Music was level was comfortable enough to have conversation and there is room for a little more lighting but the ambiance is great. The staff and the chefs are truly attentive to detail receiving constructive criticism as they navigate through the coming weeks of a grand opening. I see great potential with the overall experience of taste and quality service! The Chocolate Pie is AMAZING!

                                                      Dining at ETC. was an absolute pleasure. The food was nothing short of phenomenal; every bite was full of flavor, leaving us wanting more. The entire meal was a testament to the chef's skill and attention to detail. We cannot wait to return and try more of what this amazing restaurant has to offer. Highly recommended!
