Etta is a small neighbourhood bistro proud to call East Brunswick home. We’ve come quite a way from the old fish-and-chip shop that once stood in this spot. We still serve fish but it’s a little different now.

Our menu, if you’d like it defined, is Australian, and draws lots of inspiration from the people around us, so you’ll find hints of Greek, Italian, Middle Eastern and Asian influences here and there. We love produce-driven cuisine so there’s a lot of that here too.

Our wine list was put together with one aim in mind – that’s there’s something for everyone.

We’re looking forward to hosting you at Etta. Swing by and say hi.

There’s great parking on both sides of Barkly Street (even better if you’re early) but be sure to avoid the permit zones. Or you could try Luscombe Street or St. Phillip Street, both just a few minutes walk away.<br /><br />Better yet, leave the car at home and hop on the tram. The 1 and the 6 stop right outside. Handy.

The 1 and the 8 tram stops right outside Etta on Lygon Street.

I loved the creative and thoughtful menu and the professional service. It felt like an 'intelligent' restaurant. So the noise level jarred. It's hard work trying to have an easy intelligent conversation if you have to speak loudly to make yourself heard.

Etta is definitely at the top of its game! Second time my husband and I have visited this gem and it is getting even better. Warmly greeted and treated like family from start to finish. The owner and Executive Chef Hayden is a brilliant cook and Hannah as front of house is friendly and makes you feel at home. Those things alone make it being a fantastic place to eat. Hayden even took the time to bring out one of our courses personally and have a brief chat. That type of service makes the experience worth coming back for. We started with the Oysters Natural, then the best calamari we have ever had the pleasure of eating! Next we had the carrots cooked a number of different ways with a tasty orange sauce. We finished up with their special of slow roasted suckling pig with the obligatory crackling! Sublime. At Etta it is all about sharing food and that is our preferred way of eating so this place is perfect for us. Once again we had a great lunch experience from start to finish and will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

We were a group of 4 out for dinner. the food was delicious, particularly the sides and dessert and the service attentive. very enjoyable night out

Beautiful room, service is polite, professional and efficient. Had the shared set menu, good amount of food, well timed, tasty flavour combinations, fresh and well presented. Hit the mark perfectly

The food was interesting and delicious and the service was friendly and efficient. Ambience was buzzy and noisy, not really suitable for quiet conversation or a romantic night out...food made up for it though! Will definitely return.
