Owned and operated by the Teas family for over 15 years, Eugene's (formally Danton’s Gulf Coast Seafood Kitchen), continues to serve Houston's finest Cajun-style Gulf Coast Cuisine. Conveniently located between Montrose and River Oaks. The restaurant is a neighborhood spot where everyone feels at home.
Join us in celebrating the flavors and traditions of the Gulf Coast in a charming, casual-fine dining atmosphere. All our dishes are made from scratch (except the Ranch dressing and Blue Bell ice cream) and our seafood and steaks are grilled over a wood-burning fire of oak and hickory. Filet mignon with sweet potato and fried onions was delightful. Perfectly cooked to medium-rare and very tender. The crab cake was excellent as well. Service was subpar and ruined the evening. Service is usually very attentive. The server tonight was inattentive, uninspired and disengaged. It took about 10 minutes at 6:00 for our server to even appear. We had to ask for lemons three times and crackers twice. We ordered a desert by mistake and wanted to modify the order but never got an opportunity. Next time we saw the server, he presented us the bill.
