In Uptown Houston's Galleria, FIG & OLIVE Tasting Kitchen & Bar is an escape to the French Riviera for weary shoppers and residents. F&O Houston gives guests an accessible way to indulge with an elegant lunch or a late-night rendezvous. The buzzy bar scene makes for an evening that is effortlessly entertaining.     We made a reservation for the Valentine’s dinner. When we got there for our reservation they had overbooked and we were told to wait another 40 mins to be seated. We were unable to wait that long so had to quickly find a place to eat.

    I had an early dinner here and ordered the herb-crusted lamb dish. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t great. They didn’t ask how I wanted the lamb cooked, and the portion size was small. The dish itself was cold, and the lamb wasn’t cooked through properly. The seating arrangement was another issue. We were squeezed into a small room and seated right near the door, with very little space between tables. We could clearly hear the conversation of the couple next to us, which made for an uncomfortable and lackluster dining experience.

    Food was great, environment was lovely, but service was all over the place (we were made to feel like we needed to get out as soon as possible). Will NOT be coming back on a high volume day with a special one-off menu again.

    We had a nice family dinner here. It was casual but very nice. Not at all pretentious. Delicious food and our server was very attentive. I would definitely go again.

    We had an excellent meal. Our goal was great food and service at "someplace new" and we scored! The meal was excellent, all of us had a little something different although we shared some apps. Our waiter was on top of everything and the restaurant was very nicely decorated for the holidays.
