Journey is one of the most recognizable bands in the world. Jonathan Cain, keyboardist, songwriter, and vocalist for this legendary rock band, ventured into a winemaking collaboration with Healdsburg, California winery owner Dennis De La Montanya in 2006. The result was Finale Wines, a unique blend of the arts, music and winemaking.
Over the years, Finale Wines has released a variety of extraordinary wines including a Chardonnay, Malbec/Zinfandel Rosé, Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, and Bordeaux-style red blends. Proceeds of these wines have proudly benefitted San Francisco Bay Area children’s charities, such as the Make A Wish Foundation.
We are now offering a tasting experience at our winery in Healdsburg. If you love exceptional winemaking as well as exceptional music, we welcome you to Finale.
From 101 North: Take the Central Healdsburg Exit. Continue straight until you reach the large roundabout where you will take the third right onto Mill Street. Continue on Mill Street which turns into Westside Road. Continue on Westside Road as it winds south. Turn right onto Felta Road. Stay to the left and go under the bridge onto Foreman Lane.
Anyone who has even been invited backstage after a concert knows how sharing a bottle of wine can enhance the spirit of camaraderie and celebration. It's that spirit that inspired us to create this very special wine.
2018 Finale ChardonnayUS$40.00
Like its musical namesake, Bellezza is a beautifully crafted Chardonnay. From the golden color to the rich aromatics - a perfect balance between fruit and oak. From the vineyard to the glass, Bellezza is a Sonoma beauty that was made to share with food and friends.
2019 Finale RoseUS$30.00
Vivo, like its musical namesake, is a lively, animated rosé made from the Malbec varietal. When chilled, it will play on your senses with dazzle and charm. We invite you to enjoy the wines of De La Montanya Winery and Jonathan Cain.
A Chanconne is a slow, steady sensual dance which matches this wine perfectly. This vineyard, planted in shallow, sultry soils of the Sonoma Coast, produces a beautifully balanced Pinot Noir. 2013 was an exceptional year for grape growing. With it being the third year of drought, tonnage was minimal, but these fewer and smaller grapes gave it their all. This wine has a dark berry, slightly tart mouthfeel with a gracious amount of boysenberry, bramble berry, and a touch of bay leaf. Extend your Open Arms to this lilting Pinot, now through at least the next few years.

2008 FinaleUS$75.00
Library Wine - No Discounts. This Cabernet is grown in the rich volcanic soil of Napa Valley and like its namesake it is truly the climatic event in a series of nature's musical movements…from the budding on the vines that takes place in spring, the green foliage of summer, the golden ripening of fall leading to the crush and maceration, yielding a harmony and balance between sun and soil…fruit and oak…beginning and end. Enjoy with food and friends, the celebration and wonder of nature's closing chord…Finale.
2008 Grand Finale, Napa Valley Red BlendUS$125.00
The 2008 Grand Finale has it all. This wonderfully balanced blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot has an opulent, fruit driven spirit. The initial mouthfeel of dried fruit, plum, red licorice and soft Greek olive sensations move forward into a crescendo of toasted oak, bold tannin, food worthy acidity and slightly tart yet ripe olallieberries. Be Good To Yourself and enjoy a bottle (or two) with friends while you sit back and listen to your favorite Journey songs.
2009 Finale, Napa Valley Cabernet SauvignonUS$75.00
The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in this age worthy wine, come from two of the most prestigious regions of the Napa Valley – Stags Leap and Atlas Peak. The resulting wine has that deep dynamic black cherry essence we love in a Cab. This well-made wine, with a richly solid, balanced structure is best enjoyed Any Way You Want It over the next ten years.
2010 Grand Finale, Napa Valley Red BlendUS$125.00
A Grand Finale is the ultimate climax of a passionate performance. This Bordeaux-style wine is definitely climactic. Its deep, dense, cranberry-Bing cherry lusciousness includes hints of blueberry and exotic soft plush leather. The Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin' of these grapes has resulted in this amazingly well-crafted wine. 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc.

I had a fantastic time at Finale Wines! A great selection of wines (including Pinots from 2011!), a lovely setting, and a fantastic chat with our host, Mike. I highly recommend.

The review wouldn't let me proceed without rating food but of course we were wine tasting and there was no food involved.
I wanted to rate Finale because we had such a great time! Four of us sat in a lovely courtyard while Michael poured and described the different wines. His knowledge and stories made the wine even more interesting - and they are delicious wines!
The setting couldn't have been more perfect - this is a wonderful place to idle away an afternoon.

While it was a rainy day and we were required to be outside (under a tent) it was still a very enjoyable experience. Mike, our host, did an amazing job of describing the wines, the best way to appreciate any wine, and showcasing an amazing quality and taste of Finale wines. The ambiance was enhanced by a great background of Journey music and music of the Journey era.
There were three of us for the tasting, and Mike did a great job of some side-by-side tastings to illustrate the value of allowing wines to breath, as well as to compare the same wine but of different vintages.
This was the highlight of our day wine tasting - thank you!
