Surrounded by windows overlooking the Salem Harbor, Finz offers guests lively waterfront scenery in a comfortable open concept interior. Of particular note is the 40 seat bar which flows from dining room to lounge, floor to ceiling nautical wall, hand painted lobster octopus mural, open style kitchen and built-in raw and sushi bars. In warmer months, the outdoor patio dining along the water is superb, with spots in the shade or the sun to enjoy a libation or light bites. With events centered around local arts, Finz is the place to experience Salem.

    Ordered oysters and drinks which arrived quickly and were delicious, but before we had even finished the oysters, the calamari appetizer and our entrees were also delivered. We had to ignore the oysters to be able to eat either the app or entrees while they were hot. When the waitresses checked in to how everything was, we let her know everything came at once. She offered to put the calamari appetizer under a heating lamp while we ate our entrees. Huh? No. We ended up telling her didn’t want it and longer and she made a comment about our eyes being bigger than our stomachs . Manager did take it off the bill. Felt like we were being rushed through the meal which was unfortunate on New Years Eve. In and out in just over an hour. Food was very good though and atmosphere was great.

    The place is in a lovely spot on Pickering Wharf. Food was good but I would have loved more rice with paella. It’s not a tradicional paella. Oysters were VERY fresh. Overall, great spot!

    Food was good but the service was spotty. Had to ask twice for soda and 3 times for bread. The soda arrived after the appetizers and the bread (4 pieces for a table of 6) arrived well after the entree. The food was delicious however, although the wine list selection didn’t live up to the quality and price point of the food.

    Lovely lunch at Finz. Outstanding sushi, as usual. Jae’s roll is a favorite. Crab stuffed haddock and steak tips were also excellent. Great place to eat in Salem.

    We love Finz! Every menu item is creative and delicious. My husband's rare tuna entree was the best he has ever had. The poke bowl was outstanding too.
