   Wow wow wow! You know you’re in a terrific restaurant when you start planning your return barely halfway through your meal. Fiorella had been on my radar for some time, but life seemed to put up roadblocks. So when, at last, I saw next day availability for their Pasta Club, I jumped on it. Where to begin? The cozy upstairs dining room was the perfect canvas for the culinary artistry of Chef Laura Bray and her team. Exposed brick walls, vintage Fiorella’s Sausage sign, fresh flowers on every table, and a 1980s playlist that sets just the right tone - Al Green, Sade, Spandau Ballet, and deep cuts Bee Gees (love them or hate them, they were great songwriters). My very hospitable server Sean curated the list. Bravo. The meal was a revelation! A fixed-price menu (no decisions required!) of 2 apps, 4 pastas, dessert and a complimentary pour of Prosecco plus to-die-for focaccia ensures that no one leaves hungry, and many folks, myself included), leave with takeaway containers. That said, Cacio e Pepe from their downstairs kitchen is on offer for a supplemental charge. I passed, but they provided me a single portion to try, and it was superb. Many heartfelt thanks. My favorite dish of the evening was Stuffed Pappardelle with cauliflower, prosciutto and salsa verde. The photo here answers the question of how do you stuff pappardelle?!? I am eager to return to Fiorella with friends and dine downstairs and explore the a la carte menu. But I would encourage first-timers to begin their Fiorella journey upstairs in the Pasta Club.

    I think I took too long eating the appetizers. For the first time, they gave me cold pasta that looked to be chucked onto the plate. Also served/charged me for bread in the middle of the meal. First few times I came here they gave us free gnocchi to try. I guess taking too long with the mushrooms because my sister didn’t want any, messed up their timing. They should have just served the pasta when it was best to eat. Amateur system. Only had one cook when normally there’s two. I know the owner’s wife and this meal was sht
