Fiume opened in 2013 and is located in Compton, Owners Stefano and Carla welcome you to enjoy quality, modern interpretations of classic dishes inspired by their home regions of Sardinia and Basilicata.

As Italians we are passionate about everything we do and food and drink are hugely important to our culture as we meet with friends and family to enjoy our time together. At Fiume you will experience a little of this culture as we share it with you. We provide authentic Italian cuisine with a southern Italian influence and a fresh twist.

We are proud to be an independent, family-run, Italian bar and restaurant offering you a relaxing, family-friendly atmosphere. During the good weather, you can also dine alfresco whilst watching the passing canal boats and your family dog can watch with you too.

    At Fiume, we’re already counting down to a New Year’s Eve 2024 celebration that will end the year in style and are now open for bookings*. Our sensational sparkling 3 course set menu is available all day, from Salmon filled Profiteroles to Prime fillet steak and our Classic tiramisu. there is something for everyone to indulge in on the last day off the year. Please note, our set menu is the only menu available from 4.30pm. Or why not join us in the day where you can dine off our a la carte menu until 4.30pm. It’s going to be an unforgettable end to an exceptional year – will you join us?

    This place never let's me down. I look forward to coming. Plenty on the plate I actually have leftovers for lunch. Cannot recommend enough

    We came for dinner for our anniversary so wanted a lovely intimate meal - we have been a few times in the past and always had a good experience before. The food is always exceptional and is what saved the experience. The service left a lot to be desired. We were downstairs next to a party so lots of movement around our table and noise. Our server didn’t make us aware of the specials and we had to remind them that we’d ordered water for our table. We didn’t feel particularly welcome, there was a bit of an attitude there - the table next to us got their coats taken and ours didn’t for example. We also had to remind that we’d asked for the bill. There was no “how was your meal” or “thank you” when we paid so for us it ruined the vibe of our special occasion. We didn’t stop for dessert… it’s a shame because we want to support a small business and we always had good experiences when we’ve been before. We’re regretting that we booked for over Christmas - if this was our experience on a Thursday evening I can only imagine the service on a busier one.

    We loved both of our starters, main meals and bottle of Pinot blush! Service was amazing as always and the food was delirious. We also loved the all of the Christmas decorations. Thank you so much!

    Lovely little restaurant with fabulous staff and food. There’s definitely something special about a quaint place. Definitely would recommend.

    This was our worst experience as we have a high regard for this restaurant. Our table was downstairs which lacks atmosphere but it was cold with a draft from the window and the door every time it was opened, which was often. We were there with friends to celebrate my husband’s birthday but it proved to be a real disappointment and certainly not encouraging for our friends for whom it was their first visit.

    Walking in gave us a warm and welcoming feeling. All the personal was extremely polote, food was impecabile, facilities clean. Simply perfect.

    We had some last minute changes to our booking and the staff were understanding and accommodating. The food was great as was the service. Will definitely be back soon.
