Our experience at Flores on New Year’s Eve was fantastic! We’d never been there before and easily booked for 7 PM. When we walked in, the atmosphere was super cozy and relaxed. The menu had a ton of great options, so we had a hard time narrowing it down; thankfully the staff was helpful in that regard! We started with guacamole and chips, sopes, and micheladas. The micheladas were made with lime beer, which was a perfect match for their house mix. The sopes were savory and the guacamole was fresh, loaded with tomatoes and paired with a side of salsa (my favorite was the habanero salsa). For dinner, we got the carnitas plate, which came with corn tortillas, black beans, and rice. The chicken enchiladas had a red sauce that was a bit spicy, but I’m not one to shy away from spicy food, so I didn’t mind. The chile relleno had a sauce similar to the chicken enchiladas and was really flavorful. Both the chicken enchiladas and the chile relleno were slightly spicy and similarly paired with a side of rice. To end the night, we tried their tres leches cake. It was soaked in coconut milk and topped with a sweet cream cheese frosting. It was sweet and decadent. Overall, everything was absolutely delicious! If you’re watching your weight, looking for something flavorful, shareable, and with decent portions without the crazy salt, I’d highly recommend you give this place a try. Our server and all the staff were super attentive and our food came pretty quickly. We really enjoyed the setting and all the little details of the decor (especially the lotería tiles in the bathrooms). I would 100% recommend visiting Flores and will definitely be coming back just for the friendly service and delicious food!
