Welcome to Floris at VMFA!
Our high tea menu and tea service is offered daily from 11:30 am - 2:30pm priced at $45 per guest, not inclusive of tax and service. We kindly require each guest's participation. After 2:30pm we offer our a la carte menu for more casual fare.
Floris invites you to immerse yourself in a culturally enriching tearoom experience at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Nestled in the beautiful surroundings of the Robins Sculpture Garden, Floris is a community gathering space located in VMFA’s Pauley Center.
Take a mid-day escape and indulge in delightful pleasures for the palate, including expertly crafted blends from guest tea makers. Chef Chainey Kuykendall’s use of fresh ingredients from local vendors and importers further enhances Floris’s celebration of cultures and community.
Reservations for our high tea are encouraged, as seating is limited. Questions can be directed to 804-340-5785 or floris@vmfa.museum

This was a lovely tea!! The food was both beautiful and delicious. We tried several types of tea and enjoyed each one. Our server was great. I only gave it a 4 for ambiance because the sound of talking around the room got too loud for us to hear each other across the table. We were at a table of 4. If there was a bit more noise cancelling drapes or something that would help. But I’d definitely go again. We had a fantastic time and were able to sit and enjoy being together and we were not rushed at all.

Lots of fun! Groups all around enjoying each other in a festive atmosphere. Room was lovely, table settings top notch, most tea very good, but one choice brewed too weak. Food was good, interesting and the small bites of some selections were just the right size.

This is the second time my mom and I visited Floris the first time there was some hits and some misses with the food which is to be expected but this time other than the quiche and plain bread none of the food was really good. The sweets were overpoweringly sweet and some had main ingredients that didn't make sense together and the savory's were underwhelming in their entirety or just seemed like the ratio of ingredients was way off. The staff when we were actually able to see them were very kind and helpful it just seemed like they would disappear and if we needed something we would have to flag down anyone we could. It doesn't seem like there is any sound proofing other than a couple carpets in the room so even though the area is small the noise was big, it felt more like I was in a stadium waiting for a concert or game then in a relaxing tea room. Now there are definitely plusses too, the staff were very kind, the building/room is decorated gorgeously and the tea was absolutely delicious so no complaints there but if I'm going to spend a little over 100$ for two people on tea and finger foods I would hope for a better overall experience.

A lovely historical. Venue matched with an attentive and accommodating staff made for a one of a kind tea service. I hope Floris continues to thrive and remain a beautiful addition to Richmond’s social activities. Floris is a very appreciated and needed experience. I will definitely continue to visit and bring friends and family when they visit.

The Tea at Floris @ the VMFA is just lovely. This was our second visit. We were greeted warmly and seated at our table for 4 near the fireplace. Because we visited close to Valentine's Day, we were offered a special Valentine's Day menu in addition to the regular tea menu. We stuck with the tea menu but added a glass of Cava. We were celebrating a birthday and they were kind enough to bring a piece of red velvet cake to help us celebrate. It was moist and delicious. Our tea started with a pot of Masala Chai and a pot of white tea (cherry blossom) followed by freshly made (still warm) scone and walnut cranberry bread. These were served with their homemade elderberry spread. So delicious!! Next came the tea service - savory sandwiches and a small piece of quiche which was so creamy and eggy - amazing. The sweets on the tray were beautiful to look at and tasty to eat particularly the cream puff. Our server was attentive and knew the menu well. We can't wait to go again.

Very pleasant experience. Food is not as fancy as expected. We still had a lovely time Nice splurge for a date.
