Forcella is bringing old-world Italian food to the North End of Boston.
Nino Trotta — who owns Forcella alongside his girlfriend, general manager and co-owner Shannon MacGowan, and his brother, wine director Christian Trotta — say that the cozy, candlelit vibe of the restaurant sets Forcella apart in a sea of massive North End restaurants.
“It’s tiny, 30 seats,” he said. “It’s perfect for a date.”
The kitchen team has designed a menu that includes dishes from all over Italy, with a slight lean toward Naples, where the Trotta family is from. Primi dishes include meatballs, crispy quail, while pastas range from linguine alle vongole and risotto to gnocchi with braised rabbit. Salmon, ribeye, round out the menu.

Forcella never disappoints! From the great ambiance to the incredible and informative staff and delicious food! Went here after work with some girlfriends and had such a great time. This is my favorite spot in the north end.

The best service ever! My mom flew in to visit me and wanted to get Italian food and so I made a reservation here @ 9:30pm because they had availability! I was worried that they were closed because on the website it said they closed at 9pm but they still were able to seat us! The bread and olive oil was divine and our entrees and drinks were DELICIOUS. Loved our server Sarah, and the other server Marcis, for being so kind and awesome. Can’t wait to go back!

Dinner was yummy and our server was great. Many speciality drinks to pick from. Mixed drinks are a little smaller than average. Our table was squeezed at corner end so one of us kept getting bumped, however, restaurant is quant and has a bar to hang at and service and food was fantastic. A must try in North End.

All four plates we had were made from fresh ingredients and well seasoned. Portion sizes were appropriate. There is a good choice of wines by the glass, and a wide selection of bottles that is not too long. I would definitely return on my next trip to Boston.

Live and learn, we brought our 20, 19 and 16 years olds. It was fine but we think much better for a date night. Our kids said the staff made them feel less than welcome. Definitely a more mature crowd.

Vibes was immaculate with the ambience and decor. However it took a while to receive food and drinks after we ordered. Food was okay but could’ve better. Waiter was kind however clumsy with the water pouring and dropped water on us and our table three times. However, the overall experience of this place was on par for the North End title.
