Foreign Cinema is a one-of-a-kind, nationally acclaimed restaurant blending independent films with California-Mediterranean cuisine. Enjoy a stylish indoor dining room with a full bar and fireplace, or relax in our heated and covered outdoor courtyard where 35mm film screenings begin at dusk.

For those seeking a more intimate experience, our private dining options include the mezzanine, amate terrace, and gallery, thoughtfully curated by Modernism West. Our vibrant DJ/live music bar, Laszlo, serves craft cocktails, zero-proof options, a full dinner menu, and lively tunes to end your night.

We are currently accepting reservations for both the heated and covered outdoor patio and indoor dining up to 60 days in advance. Standard seating refers to indoor dining. For groups of 9 or more, please reach out to our private dining department at janine@foreigncinema.com for booking details.

    Excellent as always. They made some special accommodations for us which really made it a special night. Harmony is one of the best servers in the business.

    The food isl excellent! Service is spot on. Although we didn’t try them there are many delicious cocktail recipes on the menu as well.

    For the prices charged, Foreign Cinema should have superior service and excellent food. Neither of those are the case. I had a $74 ribeye that was so tough that it wasn’t worth eating. If we’d been with a different group, I’d have sent it back. Service was efficient but not excellent, which it should have been for these prices.

    We had a delicious meal at Foreign Cinema. The food is outstanding and we took our 9 year old and she loved the kids menu. Samuel our server was friendly and attentive, extremely knowledgeable and really made our evening. Such a great restaurant, we will definitely go back soon.

    I have been visiting family in SF over the past few years and whenever I am in SF I look forward to having a meal at Foreign Cinema. The service is always top notch as well as the good.

    The ambience was very cool. The pork chop was divine and so was the duck breast. Drinks were delicious. The sour note was the service: waited for a glass of wine till half way through the meal; bread orders took too long. Server returned rarely to check on our table. Nice food, service needs improvement.
