Formosa House Chinese Restaurant has been serving the local community for more than ten years and offers diners the choice of an a la carte menu, takeaway or a variety of well -priced banquet options. The special lunch deal consists of spring rolls and fried wonton followed by a selection from the many popular main dishes, including lemon chicken, sweet and sour pork, and beef in black bean sauce, all served with rice. The restaurant meals recommended by the experts chefs at Formosa House include the almond-coated scallops for entree and the ever-popular Peking duck or grilled Mongolian lamb. An extensive slection of beverages is available and can be matched to the meals. The variety of imported and local beers will impress and the Chinese Tsing Tao beer is worth a try. A cocktail menu is also on offer, along with a thoughtfully selected wine list. Licensed and BYO Wine Only

Food materials are good, however too much MSG-have to drink a lot of water afterwards. Cocktail is very disappointing.

The Food was good however my main 'Duck in Orange sauce' was lukewarm. Reasonbly expensive.

Our group of 9 had quick attentive service. We ordered 6 main meals and rice and we were all well fed. The food was very good, vegies fresh, seafood of high quality and chicken and steak dishes tasty with just the right amount of sauce. We believe it was good value - prices a little more than my local Chinese but much better quality.

The food is very plain standard fare. The scallops were frozen and chewy, Steak tasteless, Prawn cutlets were not cutlets, just a prawn surrounded by stodgy batter and the banana fritter, how can you destroy a banana.

We took my mother in law for a belated mothers day dinner and it was fabulous, the banquet is a true banquet. The value for money is excellent and the food was amazing.A true Chinese experience without the MSG headaches afterward.They were wonderful and patient with our 6yr old who asked many questions of them.I can't wait for our next trip there.

We ordered a banquet for 7 people, they forgot our main meals & then argued that when we requested the 2nd mail meal, after 3hrs we left skipping dessert & coffee's - then the manager argued with us over decreasing the bill.

The staff are always friendly and helpful, the food is excellent, the menu is moderately priced and the parking is plentiful. The restaurant is quiet so diners can chat without shouting, the toilets are clean, the bar is well stocked ... what more can anyone want?
