The Freelance Café & Wine Bar is of the one of the founding restaurants of Piermont’s now bountiful selection of eclectic spots to wine and dine in this historic and charming village by the Hudson River.

The Freelance menu offerings consist of Small Plates, Large Plates, and Daily Specials. The menu remains a touchstone for Modern American Cuisine as informed and inspired by the French Bistro, the Italian Trattoria, the Japanese Izakaya and ever more tastefully global inspiration. We offer a long list of favorite dishes whether that’s French Onion Soup, Thai Pasta, Braised Short Ribs or Classic Crème Brulee, as well as an inspiring selection of wines by the glass or bottle. Wonderful experience, all around - as always. Food and service exceptional. The room has a great vibe, notwithstanding its relatively small dimensions. The wine list is surprisingly good, with all price points well represented. Staff is always friendly, professional, and eager to please. We've been coming here for over 25 years and have virtually never been disappointed.

We have eaten here a number of times. The food, and service are always consistently great. They are attentive without hovering over you. The menu has a great variety. There’s something for everyone. Food is delicious and just the right amount.

What happens when a restaurant just keeps hitting the mark every time? You frequent the joint! Been there enough to say that after finishing dinner you think darn it, what a cool evening. It is just consistently an enjoyable night out because they check all the boxes, great vibe, great drink, great food, great service...good times!

Always the best time at our favorite restaurant Joe and all the staff treat you like family The food is always spectacular the quality and what the chef puts out should not be missed. You will never disappointed with anything you have. Give it a try and you will say the same as we have for over 20 years now Tony & Janet

Great fine dining in a Hudson Riverside village. Piermont NY is just a beautiful sleepy waterfront village with more than a few fine restaurants. This is one of them. Wonderful attentive service. Great ambiance. Food is superb! Octopus appy is off the charts.

This was a first visit celebrating our friendship over the past 40 plus years. It was a late lunch and all aspects from greeting to menu selection were amazing. The food was delicious and the staff was polite, friendly and extremely professional. Overall, this was a great meal and I would definitely recommend Freelance.
