Pronounced ‘hue-guh,’ this centuries old Danish word means a sense of intense well-being brought on by a place or experience emanating warmth, charm and coziness.

It is this concept that has driven us to create Freya for all of Tulsa to enjoy. Located at Center 1 in Brookside, this new concept by the Justin Thompson Restaurant Group features classic and re-invented dishes & libations from all of Scandinavia. Whether you join us for lunch, brunch, or dinner, you’ll experience the exceptional cuisine and heart-felt hospitality that Justin Thompson and his team have created at each of its’ other concepts.

    Unbelievably good. First time in Tulsa where I didn’t have a bad bite during an entire meal. Stars of the meal were the salted honey butter, the goulash (I could have eaten 10 plates of this) and the chocolate cake. It’s sad that you are closing. Please be as adventurous with your next concept, because this was fantastic. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

    The restaurant was out of scallops, and we were told this after ordering. Each red wine that seemed of good quality and interesting was out of stock. Disappointing when we had invited a couple who like the restaurant and are particular. They were probably disappointed in the situation.

    We had a wonderful experience! If you are looking to try something different, Freya's approach to Nordic cuisine is super approachable. The cocktail menu was creative and fun, our server was knowledgeable, and the food was delicious.

    Had the Chef’s menu with wine pairings and it was delicious! The pumpkin soup and Riesling were the best complementary coupling I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend Freya to anyone.

    Thank you so much! The Pumpkin soup is one of my favorite things on the current menu, but we have some exciting things coming up for spring! And we'll have a great pairing picked out for all of them! :)

    This was our first time to Freya. We had been told it was a must, and they were right. It was relaxing. Service was great and the food was amazing! Such flavors. We ordered the goat cheese appetizer dip, duck, Swedish meatballs, Chocolate cake and cheesecake. Everything was delicious!

    My Scandinavian heritage matched with the appeal of the menu caused us to decide this restaurant was worth our time. We were correct! Solomon provided incredible service through the dinner experience, and provided interesting background on the menu items including our selections… and even suggested some things to try we hadn’t noticed. The soup of the day was a cauliflower-potato. Such an interesting combination and some additional flavors that gave this five stars. The spiced apple old fashioned was wonderful, and my wife enjoyed the mocktail assortment. We ended the evening with the butternut squash cake - highly recommended! It’s my new favorite in Tulsa!
