If you’re seeking a place where every dish feels like “the perfect bite,” Garde Manger is an absolute must-visit. Chef Chris Merrick’s masterful creations, paired with Louis Martineau’s attentive service and expertly guided wine pairings, showcase how passion for food and meticulous attention to detail can culminate in something extraordinary. Each bite felt as though it had been crafted with love and care, making this dining experience truly unforgettable. However, to credit only two individuals would be misleading—this was a team effort. Several chefs worked in seamless harmony, and many dishes were served by equally attentive and engaged members of the kitchen staff. The collaborative energy was palpable, enhancing the overall experience. I am deeply grateful for the time spent savoring these incredible dishes alongside expert wine pairings. Rarely does one receive such an exceptional level of care and service over such culinary delights. And I wasn’t alone in this sentiment—the restaurant was filled with warm light, gentle conversations, and smiling faces throughout the evening. For those dining solo, I highly recommend a seat at the bar. From there, you get a full view of the kitchen—a front-row seat to witness the mastery behind both the drinks and dishes. Simply delightful, forever unforgettable.

    Manger au Garde Manger est une expérience, surtout si vous commandez le repas du chef. Cela faisait plusieurs années que nous voulions essayer ce restaurant et nous y sommes finalement allés pour notre anniversaire de mariage. Les six services étaient exceptionnels, du pogo au homard, au tartare de thon, au carpaccio de bœuf, aux pommes de terre dauphinoises. Le service dans le restaurant était également hors pair. Merci pour une merveilleux souper.

    Excellent service, nous avons pris l'option 7 services et la seule chose qui valait la peine était les huîtres. Très dispendieux pour la nourriture servies. Bien meilleur restaurant pour moins chers ailleurs.

    It was our first time to Garde Manger on a friends reccomendation and we truly loved it. The sevice was super friendly and excellent overall, the staff didn’t miss a beat. The food which we heard so much about was fantastic, the best salmon I’ve ever eaten at any restaurant! My wife had the sccallops which were equally delicious. We started with three kinda of oysters which all were so fresd and tasty along with yummy deserts. They also have a huge wine selection from all over the world. Great ambiance, a little dark but cozy and romantic. It will be on our go to list next time in Montreal!
