We love Garp & Fuss and have eaten here many times. When they closed a couple of months ago, we were very sad, so when it was announced they were re-opening we were thrilled! We made a reservation the week they re-opened for our 5 year anniversary. When we came in, we had to wait 15 minutes after our reservation to be sat (2-top) which was not the staff’s fault but frustrating nonetheless. All of our food and drinks were amazing; we got the thyme/bourbon cocktail, lemonade, french onion soup, jack’d up chicken parm, and the wild mushroom orzotto. Our main issue was with the service we received from our server. We sat for 10 minutes before she came over. She brought our water and lemonade and said she would be right back for a cocktail order. She was gone another 10 minutes and going back and forth from the table next to us about four times. I’m sure they were having an issue of some sort, but by the time she came by again for the cocktail order, we had been at the restaurant for 45-minutes without even having ordered food, and this is with a reservation for only two people made a month in advance. Our food came out impressively fast and was amazing, as said before. However, our server would never have known. She dropped the food off and promptly disappeared the entire time we ate. We had eaten all of our food and been done for five minutes before we saw her again, we were never checked on or given any refills during the meal. Then we waited another 10 minutes to get the check. We immediately put the card into the checkbook but waited even longer for her to come get it. We paid with a card reader at our table, which always messes up the ambiance and is awkward when you have barely seen your server the entire meal. I am server, we still tipped, and I understand that things happen, but for how expensive it was and how important a night it was for us, the service experience was very disappointing and I don’t think the experience was worth our money.
