Gekkō is a japanese-inspired steakhouse and lounge from the minds of groot hospitality’s david grutman and the recording artist bad bunny.

Located in miami’s thriving brickell neighborhood, gekkō immerses patrons in a fusion of elevated steakhouse surroundings with the modernity–and precision–of japanese cuisine. Signature dishes include premium steak cuts, jaw-dropping sushi inventions, and delicious seafood appetizers. A bespoke cocktail program, an extensive wine list and bottle service offerings complement the menu.

Gekkō’s aesthetic is lush, luxe and jewel-toned. With design accents like custom wallpaper, dark and rich palettes and hints of soft golden light, the restaurant transports visitors to an intimate, rare nocturnal world. As it happens, the word “Gekkō” itself translates from Japanese to English as “moonlight.”

I love trying nice “fancy” or “expensive” restaurants sometimes the food is not all that, sometimes the service is mid, it’s just the name or the looks… this is the first time I can say the food was worth every penny, everything was delicious and the service was on point, quick, attentive but not annoying, very respectful, only thing I would change is the hostess, they treat you like they’re better than you cause they work there 😅 but that’s most places in Miami. Everything else is to die for🥰

I made a reservation for 10:30pm and when I got there I had to wait for 1 hour to have a table because 50% of the restaurant was closed for a private event. After almost an hour the only available table was outside, the service was terrible and I couldn’t have a worst experience. I asked for soil sauce for over 5 times and they took over 15 minutes to give me it, also I waited over 20 minutes to ask for a drink or even the check since a private event started inside. So I realized I was not important for the place - hope they will notice me now.

Food was okay, but this is Miami, for the location and price, this should be spectacular. Staff are not attentive, my waitress came once to take order, and to drop off check. They “ran out” of iced tea. The water they served was room temperature and no ice. Salmon maki was sub par, rice was separating from seaweed and the taste was average at best. I don’t regret going, because whatever, but I for sure would not go back or recommend it.

Increible todo, muy buena comida, los valores son altos pero lo vale. Es un lugar con musica alta, para ir con amigos o pareja y disfrutar de una noche descontracturada. De lo mejor de Miami

The restaurant offered a delightful ambiance, complemented by exquisitely crafted dishes. Each item we ordered was not only visually impressive but also exceptional in flavor. The attention to detail in both taste and presentation was remarkable. I highly recommend this place and look forward to returning for another outstanding experience.
