This was our second time at General Public. Everything about this restaurant is top notch.
What we ordered,
Shrimp cocktail - classic, shrimp cooked perfectly
Kampachi crudo - very crisp and clean dish, seasoned well, IMO could use a touch more acidity
Fried clams and mussels - unreal, a must order
Halibut - this is probably the best halibut I’ve ever had. An absolute masterclass in how to cook this fish
Pork chop - flavourful, cooked perfectly, tender and moist
English chips - so good, we ordered a second plate
Creme caramel - so rich and delicious, ate more like a cheesecake
English pudding - beautiful airy cake with citrus notes
Only negative note would be about the 2 person booths on the main floor. We were originally seated there but the seat back and table were far too close together so I couldn’t fit. I understand I am not an average size human but I am also not obese. They accommodated us at a different table. Was a bit of an embarrassing situation that I hope others don’t go through.
Overall, a fantastic experience. Neal fantastic on the floor and a pleasure speaking with. We will be back again, and again, and again. Keep up the great work!
