Giacomo's Ristorante in Melrose provides delicious Italian cuisine in a comfortable, traditional atmosphere. Food & service were excellent one e we were seated. Check-in and table wait time was abysmal. We arrived at 6:30pm for our 7pm hoping to have a drink in the bar. The one hostess was in the weeds responsible for both seating all guests and running all takeout orders for guests and meal delivery drivers. There was no room anywhere in the entry and we waited on line for 30 mins to check in with the hostess another 25 mins for our table. Saturday night’s hostess deserves a bonus!

Waited half an hour after our reservation to get seated. They apparently “overseat” which means customers are waiting much longer than they should be to get seated. That said, service was good and food came out relatively quick. But we did not even have our drink order in until 45 minutes past our reservation time. Restaurant is super noisy, so be prepared.

Had a great experience on New Year's Eve. The food was terrific and the service was spot on. Our waitress was perfect, and even the teen bus boys were super attentive and friendly! I was very impressed!! I actually think my favorite aspect of Giacomo's is the atmosphere. It's always bustling, and takes me back to the Italian restaurants on the north shore I loved as a kid like The Blue Moon in Lynn, Papa John's in Swampscott and The Tides in Nahant. Only difference here is that Giacomo's is definitely more upscale than those places. We hope to return many times in the future!!

Angela is one of the best servers we have ever had! My wife and I have been to Giacomo's quite a few times and come back time and again because the food is always great. Now we will be returning with hopes of having Angela be our server as she made our dining experience even better than expected. We made reservations for New Years Eve and fully expected mediocre food and to be rushed in and out as usually happens elsewhere when we dine out on a busy holiday. We were wrong! Angela greeted us warmly, told us about the specials, took our drink order and then gave us time to look over the menu. Our martini and tequila drinks were full size and perfect. Next, we ordered the Italian Chop Salad which was delicious. We usually order the always excellent Fried Calamari but decided to pass on any seafood this time because we had just had the "seven fishes" on Christmas Eve. We watched as Angela hustled around the dining room waiting on multiple tables with a smile while still being attentive to us but not overbearing. She waited until we were well into our salad and then asked us if we would like her to put in our main course orders with the kitchen. This shocked us as usually most other restaurants rush it out as soon as you take the first bite of your appetizer, in order to rush you out for the next party. Our Veal Parm and Veal Marsala were delicious. When we were done with our main courses, Angela took our order for cappuccinos and banana cheese cake stuffed crepes with ice cream and fresh whipped cream which were all fantastic. It was closing time but Angela never rushed us. Bottom line is that if you want great food at lower prices than the North End and with plenty of free parking, Giacomo's is THE place to go. We will be back regularly and we'll definitely be requesting Angela from now on.

As usual, Giacomo’s food was excellent. It was a busy night! Our waitress did an outstanding job! Looking forward to our return!

This was our first time here but will not be the last. We had a reservation and weee promptly seated. Totally forget our waiters name but he was amazing. The food was a 10+ consisted of Eggplant Parmesan Chicken Parmesan Broccoli Ravioli and Scallop and Shrimp with Giacomo sauce. The Cosmos were delicious as was the Espresso Martini. Limoncello cake and Hazelnut chocolate cake were spectacular!

It’s a very enjoyable typical Italian meal. It’s good food if you don’t want to go to Waltham or the North End. The only bad aspect of the experience is that staff kept rushing us to finish our meal asking us if they could pack our food. They clearly wanted to go home.
