Giorg is a casual fine dining Italian restaurant that has been a pillar of food and service in Thunder Bay for over 30 years. White linens, amazing wines, beautiful food are always enhanced by the care, passion, and attention to detail carried out by the service staff. With over 50 years of combined experience in the dining room, we strive to leave our guests with a lasting memory. Our chef is inspired by the changing flavours of the season and works with products from local farms and purveyors to create our seasonal menu options. Our pasta is made fresh in-house, the traditional way, by extracting it through a bronze die. Whether celebrating a milestone or celebrating Friday night, we will make sure your night is memorable!

    Giorg has two private rooms that are available to book for your next event. Our larger room seats 20 people and our smaller room can seat up to 14 people. We offer a variety of menu options for groups, including the very popular family style dinner menu, a plated dinner menu and cocktail party options. Wifi access and a projection screen are available for presentations. With a group of 40 or larger we can also reserve the main dining room area. Please contact the restaurant directly for more information or to book one of our private rooms. * please note, party maximums will follow what is mandated during Covid-19.

    Even if you only considered the food, Giorg would be the best restaurant in Thunder Bay. But add the team at Giorg, this what makes it truly exceptional! From the moment you walk in you feel at home, everyone there does their part to help make your time there special. Thank you for a great dinning experience once again!

    Best restaurant in Thunder Bay. The food, ambiance and service cannot be beat. As always kudos to the waitstaff who really brings the experience to a 10/10.

    The Valentine’s Day menu was fantastic. Lots of very good options to choose from. The service was impeccable. We were very satisfied with the overall experience. We will be back!

    Excellent food and service as always! New waiter Sterling did a great job and always wonderful to see Trevor and have him refold our napkins whenever we got up! Steak and duck were perfect 👌

    Can't say enough about the wonderful staff! Their team approach to taking care of their diners was seamless. The fresh pasta was amazing. We had the bolognese, and fettuccine in white wine sauce that was so good on a cold evening.

    Overall, the server Trever was amazing. The wine less was perfect. Food was out ready to be served warm it was outstanding.

    incredible evening and service. trevor wiped the snow off my car. food was perfection. fantastic chef and ambiance. marie was the best host and hung my coat just right. will be visiting again 100%.

    The food is of a breathtaking quality, with portion sizes that leave none hungry (though all will crave more). The service is exceptional as well, and we have always felt like honoured guests during our visits. Giorg Cucina e Barra is a local treasure!
