Gjelina is a restaurant that serves locally-sourced, produce-forward food with menus guided by conversations and long-standing relationships with farmers, local ranchers, fishermen, and co-ops. Our first location Gjelina LA in Venice Beach opened in 2008 becoming a staple in the local community. We are currently open for breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner services.

Absolutely LOVED my first NY Gjelina experience. I was so sad when they had to shut down right after opening as their Venice, CA location is the best. Finally made to NYC now that they are back and open and loved it. The ambiance, the space, the food, everything was on point. Can't wait to go back!

Lovely evening. After being greeted warmly we opted to sit at the bar for dinner versus upstairs. Marvelous menu; tough to choose. Shared a four onion pizza, saffron spaghetti, pappardelle and roasted greens. Our bartender was superb; she turned me on to a marvelous rye. Lovely evening all-around.

We brought our 8 month old here for dinner and waitstaff and management could not have been more accommodating, sweet, grounded, and genuine. A breath of fresh air in New York - thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making us feel like family.

Being a regular in Venice location, unfortunatelly this venue didn’t satisfy me fwith food…too salty, veggies have different taste and sauces not as good as in LA…need to improve in order to have clients to come back…

Lamb stew and duck were extremely salty. The cabbage was good, the chicory salad had already wilted by the time it hit the table. The chickpea pasta was overcooked. Sloppy service. I don’t think they believe in providing serving utensils or changing plates with courses. We ate the duck on a plate that was swimming in the lamb juices as these dishes came 10 minutes apart with no plate change. Oh and the wine by the glass pour is quite stingy. Get a bottle! Unfortunately, I had high expectations but it was a disappointment. I am going back again in February to give it one more try before I give up on them as they are relatively new.
