We were a little stressed about the parking situation so when we inquired with the staff at the lobby they offered complimentary valet for up to 3 hrs which was a relief with a toddler. Our food was very tasty and better than I anticipated from the Google reviews - you deserve much higher. We will definitely return the next time we're in the area.

We had a great dinner experience at the Golden Owl Tavern. This was a special dinner as we were meeting the family of my sister's fiance for the first time. It was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving so the UNC Charlotte Marriott hotel where the restaurant is located was pretty empty. I originally reserved for 6 but as more family came it ballooned to 10. The staff were very accommodating with the change. The food was excellent! Definitely the best I've had in Charlotte so far. We ate light since our reservations were late in the evening so I can't comment on the entrees. I ordered the shrimp tacos and cornbread skillet which were both excellent. My son had a $6 burger and fries from the kids menu which honestly was adult sized - excellent value! My husband had the rosemary fries and our guests had an assortment of foods from the menu, all of which looked good and had substantial portions. No complaints from anyone on the food, drinks or service. It was a good night!

It was a slow night with only 5 tables in the restuarant at our time. There was only one wait staff. They were constantly behind and had trouble keeping our orders accurate, from right type of soda and wine. We will not be going back any time soon.

Terrible. Food was ok. Service way too slow. They took 45 minutes to get our bill correct.

Stayed at the hotel night prior decided to stay in and try bfast at their only restaurant. Overall disappointed. 50% ish occupied, waited 10-12 minutes to be seated. We were only ones to be seated. Immediately ordered had a sense things appeared to be moving slowly. Took 45 mins to get a simple egg platter. Had to flag down staff for simple coffee refills. Food avg and cost was so so. Problem appeared to be lack of management, plenty of help compared to customers dining. Noticed a few other tables complaining about their order. Staff nice but needed direction. I complained to Marriott. Nice hotel and location if you’re there for something UNC Charlotte related.

The food and service varies each time we go. This time the service was an issue. I ordered a Stella Artois and my colleague ordered an IPA. After 20 mins the server came to the table and said the IPA wasn’t available. He asked for a different one. After another 10 mins I followed up and the server brought a blue moon and a Stella. The Stella was in a can and the server didn’t bring a glass. Overall the server wasn’t attentive and didn’t follow up drinks refills. The menu seems to have changed (no fried green tomatoes anymore). The overall quality of the food this visit was similar to a chain like Applebees. For the desserts my colleague ordered ice cream and it literally was a couple of scoops of chocolate ice cream. I had the s’mores dessert which was pretty good.

I love the relaxed feel of this place. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The American cheeseburger was amazing. I loved they had a singer in the background playing some songs.

Our waitress Nora was amazing, she was extremely polite, attentive to all our needs (we were a large party) and she didn’t miss a beat. The food was delicious and all staff was friendly. Thank you 😊
