In our fast paced world, it's more necessary than ever to slow down and savor the day. With that in mind, we bring you a traditional, proper English afternoon tea. Portland Style. This is a city where great ideas are born of creative collaboration and we've partnered with the best. Custom blended teas from Portland's internationally-renowned Smith Teamaker. A la carte cocktails developed by the expert cocktail curators of our very own Driftwood Room Lounge. House-made English scones, cakes, and confections. $65 dollars per person with a 20% service charge added

The Christmas “Grand Buffet” consisted of light appetizers that were often not restocked once depleted. This included the soups, skewers, and many of the desserts. I had to search out staff members and ask for specific items to be restocked, including bowls and utensils. The main dish was served a bit cold. At a price of $90 plus service, we expected something far more substantial and higher quality.

We paid a premium for the Xmas buffet and while the food quality was okay they ran out of appetizers and desserts. At $90 per plate this is unacceptable. I would not go there again or recommend it.

The Christmas buffet dinner was nice but touches were missing that would have made it much more festive. For table decore, instead of plants starting to root (like on a kitchen windowsill), a small clipping of seasonal greens & a candle would have been much better! The room was a bit dim, and no additional holiday decorations. We were first seated in a side room w/bright lights and no atmosphere, until moved to the main dining room. The buffet was in a remote room across the lobby from the dining room, which was fine, but was not well stocked with food, desserts or soup bowls the multiple times we visited. One guest had to cut into the display Yule log to get a piece. They forgot to bring our entree & thought we were finished, but we were comped wine. The lobby was festive, and the food good overall though.

A nice meal and evening was compromised by the cold air that permeated the dining room. The cold air came up the stairs of the front door entry and into the dining room onto my back. We ate with our coats on - as did others.

Attended Gracie's for Christmas Dinner. The meal had a selection of entrees and a buffet. The food was delicious, staff was very friendly, ambiance was lovely. Would return again.

We went for. Christmas Day. The waitress was very accommodating of my daughter’s food allergies. The drinks and desserts were amazing!

The grand buffet was very underwhelming with the buffet portion only being a small selection of appetizers and desserts. Additionally, some of the dishes in the buffet ran out so quickly you had to hover at the buffet table and wait for them to be refreshed or risk coming back and still not getting what you’re looking for. There was a selection of about 5 heavy “holiday dinner” options which were fine but nothing spectacular and came out lukewarm. Additionally, all inclusive (excluding drinks) also does not include a side of a vegetable offered with a main dish so we paid a surcharge for 3 pieces of broccoli because the dish selected for a main didn’t come with any sides. Everything was fine but felt so over priced at $90 a head plus an automatic 20% gratuity regardless of party size.

This was probably one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The only thing good was Santa and Mrs. Claus, they were exceptional. The staff was extremely rude to us from the start, with paying $90 a person and the holidays, I was expecting some level of service to make the experience feel special. We got the opposite. Our waitress looked like she hadn’t showered in days, she went through the motion of serving us but you could see she didn’t want to be there. As another review mentioned, the tea box just showed up on the table. She mixed up our tea orders and asked us to hand her our cups to pour, which I’ve never experienced with high tea. Then when I handed her my cup she rudely/sharply asked me to move my hand so she didn’t burn me. She talked to all us at the table like we were idiots.The tea was lukewarm anyways. At another point a staff member came and yelled at us because there were little kids playing in the curtains and told us to get our kids when my daughter was sitting right next to me. She didn’t even apologize. At the end Santa came to talk to my daughter so we stayed a little longer, and as soon as he walked away they turned the lights off in the restaurant to get us to leave which scared my four year old. At no point did anyone come up to us and ask us to leave which I feel would have been the more mature and proper way to handle the situation. Even then, we were getting ready to leave but stayed for the one on one time with Santa. We were excited to make this an annual tradition with my girls but I will never return to this restaurant again. It was so disappointing and I am just sad about the whole experience. I am hoping to speak to the hotel manager at some point because there is a serious training issue. Definitely not a leader in hospitality. I’ve received better service at Burgerville… maybe you should go there to recruit for better staff!
