Grand Amari is a traditional Italian dining destination inspired by the food traditions of Italy, fine Italian wine, and amaro. We are working with pasture raised proteins, seasonal local organic produce, and highlighting the quality of handmade products. Simplicity and care in our approach is key. Start your evening off by perusing our extensive wine list while enjoying a platter of scallop crudo with a glass of grower Champagne. Follow that with our delicate handmade agnolotti or squid ink bucatini, then indulge in grass fed bistecca alla fiorentina or salt crusted branzino. Don't forget to get a bottle of Barolo with your bistecca! Wrap up your dinner with an array of Italian desserts and our indulgent amaro cart and menu.

    Great first time at Grand Amari, Christmas Eve dinner! I've been meaning to visit for a while. From the time I walked in everyone was warm and friendly. All that translated well throughout the dinner. I was delighted with the menu options; food, drinks, dessert and spirits. Thank you so much!

    I found the mushroom pasta to be unexceptional. It was claggy and not warm enough. The "vegetarian" version cost the same as the version with sausage, with no additional mushrooms added to compensate. The cocktails were unexceptional. I also find it offensive when restaurants force a 20% "service charge," also known as a forced tip, for every table, regardless of the size of the group. (There were three of us.) I'm always a 20% tipper by choice; when it is forced on me I will not return to the establishment doing it.

    Food was excellent We had the trout with rabbit pappardelle. Both dishes were excellent. Kat was our hostess and was very well informed about Italian cuisine and wine. We will be back soon.

    We loved it. food was well prepared, well considered, layered flavors, good textures. pastas were plush and exquisite. Service was particularly good and the Sommelier was best in class - experienced, well studied, bright and thoughtful . Beautifully paired the wines with every step of our meal. Totally recommend.

    Exceptional in all categories . WOW ! Short ribs and handmade pasta filled with fresh squash and topped with a pork ragú topped our pallets into gear. So, so well prepared. Evan , waitstaff and Katherine ,wine specialist ; provided complete extraordinary service ! Thank you , Gran Amari for another spectacular experience !

    An extremely good restaurant that is under the radar. Great service, great food. Excellent Italian wines. Portland has many great spots to eat, and we've been to most, but since finding this gem, we've come back often.

    Excellent food. More like being in Italy than Americans version of Italian food. And probably the best tomorrow selection I’ve seen any restaurant or bar in the US.
