The Great Southern Bar delivers a revamped bistro menu offering lunch and dinner options near the central CBD area. Situated in the heart of Haymarket, our bistro menu offers something for everyone, including succulent main meals, fresh daily specials and premium pub foods. Our diverse menu will also entertain the little ones with a variety of classics. Main entrance via George Street is a location worth stopping for.

                                                                                        Wonderful old Art Deco refurbished pub. A hidden gem. Typical well prepared pub food. You need to order at bar which has issues as noise level in here is loud plus staff struggle to understand the menu. Meals are brought to your table number. Prices reasonable. Location close to Central station. Worth a visit just to see living history.

                                                                                        The food and service was excellent, as always. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We will be back next month for another lunch bringing together some of Australia's leading journalists and former foreign correspondents.

Pork belly was tasty and wish they could have had salad and fries with it instead of veggies . Drinks were great both alcoholic and non alcoholic affordable . Definitely recommend this place
