Located in downtown DC, just four blocks from the White House, breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch are served under The Jefferson’s historic skylight in The Greenhouse.     Are you looking for a special space for an upcoming special evening or event? Our private wine cellar located at The Jefferson Hotel can be your memorable space for the evening! You will be surrounded with hundreds of bottles of wine. You will have a friendly and personalized service offer to you. Please note: For parties up to 10, there will be an A La Carte menu offered, for those parties of 11-15, there will be a Special Menu (pictured) offered at $165 per person, which does not include drinks.

    Exceptional food by chef (esp. the branzino and lamb dishes) and outstanding service by staff from walk-in to sit-down. My husband and I added the “wine pairing” option to the prix fixe menu and could not encourage more diners to do so. Well done! The Greenhouse was decorated with grandeur and made for a lux evening! Thank you at The Greenhouse at The Jefferson for a perfect NYE’s dinner to ring in 2025 with style.

    The first three courses were excellent. The 4th course (filet and lamb) was sub par. The filet was obviously an inferior cut. It was prepared to a medium rare temperature, although a little past medium rare. I’d say it was nicely seasoned, but we had to saw our way through it, it took effort to chew it, and it offered limited beef flavor. You cannot charge what you charge for second or third rate beef. Then what you referred to as the “5th course” was really what top restaurants call a palette cleanser, not a “course.” The dessert, baked Alaska, was quite good, and a fun change. Fine restaurants typically offer an amuse bouche at the beginning — when you charge what you charge. You did not. Nevertheless we felt, overall, it was a four star experience because of the wonderful first three courses, the excellent dessert, the setting, and the top notch service.

    Amazing food, spectacular service. You cannot go wrong. We are here for Christmas 🎄 and it was perfect for us. I love the ambiance. It really is like sitting in a greenhouse.

    The Jefferson Hotel at Christmas is a wonder to behold. Impeccably decorated and polished, professional service from the moment that you arrive. The Christmas brunch menu, however, was not the gastronomic experience that I expected for the price point. The filet mignon entree was not what I would consider flavorful, and the mushrooms that accompanied the steak were rubbery. Others in my party of five, however, enjoyed their meals immensely, so I guess the menu could best be described as hit or miss.

    Christmas Day lunch was great! Food was delicious and the service was great. The Jefferson is an unusual hidden gem downtown - a really elegant and interesting ambiance.

    Disappointing. We took a $1600 bottle of wine, but they broke the cork, (even though we provided a cork pull appropriate for this bottle,) pushed the remainder in with a knife and spilled the wine trying to decant it with the knife inserted to hold it back. Amateurish. We ordered cocktails. They brought the first course before the drinks, then brought me the wrong cocktail. A meat course ordered rare was served overdone. This was both Christmas Eve and our anniversary, and the prix fixe pp for our party of three - and a 3 course meal - was $175, drinks and corkage extra of course. The venue was lovely and the manager attempted to repair the sloppy service with comps, but we expected better and did not enjoy having to struggle to eat our $175 dinners. We will not return when we are next in DC.

    Great breakfast. Omlette was amazing. The wife got cast iron griddle. It was delicious. Plus, the holiday decor was beautiful. I will be back again.
