Gusto (pronounced Goo-sto) means tasty in Italian. Located in Toronto’s Corktown neighbourhood, Gusto 501 brings together the innovation of sister restaurant Gusto 101 and the soulful hospitality of Janet Zuccarini’s first restaurant, Trattoria Nervosa. Since opening our doors in 2020, Gusto 501 has been serving fresh takes on Italian fare in Toronto’s east end. Designed by award-winning architecture firm PARTISANS, Gusto 501’s space is punctuated by glowing terracotta walls and an oversized “garage door” façade that opens up to reveal a multi-level dining theatre.

Every level of Gusto 501 unfolds into a unique experience. Whatever you're craving, there's always a seat at the table for you - our famiglia.

    Terrible service on my birthday - Dec 27th by Alejandra, the fact that we had to wait atleast 40 minutes for food and we had to pay automatic 20% tip for crappy service. I was here on October and it was such an amazing and fast service. The food was overcooked and was lacking sauce - I got the most popular pasta mafalde ai funghi and I always order this pasta and it’s always tasted good. I was truly disappointed by the service and the taste of food.

    The mushroom pasta was absolutely amazing and so was our waitress! Definitely a must try! :)

    We came here for a birthday celebration and were not disappointed! Food was amazing, and the service was outstanding. Another nice touch was the birthday candle added to our dessert since many restaurants forget about it even when it is added in the notes. Will be back!

    Gusto 501 offers a chill vibe with dim lighting and a great music playlist that sets the mood perfectly. Our waitress was attentive and quick, making the dining experience seamless. The food was incredible—some of the best pizza I’ve ever had! The Carbonara and Margherita pizzas were outstanding, and the mushroom pasta was a table favorite. The espresso martini was spot-on, and desserts like the tiramisu and torta di mandorla were the perfect sweet finish. Highly recommend!

    Gusto is always a great place to go for happy hour and I’ve been going for years. But I was very disappointed that the Happy hour at the Gusto 501 is not the same options as the Gusto 101 location. I made resos at the 501 assuming since it’s the same restaurant that the happy hour HOUSE WINE $3.00 - 6oz, Arancini $10, and MAFALDE AI FUNGHI $16 was availabe but our server said no they are different restaurants. I’m confused as to why would there be way more selection for the Gusto 101 location for happy hour. I wouldn’t recommend coming back to this 501 location if you can get better deals at 101.

Gusto 101 and Gusto 501 are two separate restaurants with different offerings on their respective happy-hour and regular menus. Although some menu items are the same, many are different. Our sister restaurant, Gusto 101, would be happy to host you!

    Great food, and great environment, would’ve been nice if the service was a tad better, not that anyone was rude but more so I made it clear I was celebrating my 1 year anniversary with my girlfriend and we didn’t even get a congrats and that was disappointing.
