Guu Tramasa will keep the concept of “For your daily re-charging spot” of all Guu Izakaya and introduce Osaka street food to Vancouver locals.

Osaka is the second largest city in Japan after Tokyo. During the Edo period (1603-1867), Osaka was known as the “kitchen of the nation” and the center of commerce in Japan, where rice and other specialty products were traded. With this background, Osaka’s unique culinary culture has developed, and the region is still crowded with tourists from Japan and abroad, who enjoy both traditional dishes and inexpensive street food.

The two staff members who manage Tramasa are originally from Osaka, which led to the creation of Guu Toramasa based on the theme of Osaka’s food culture.

We visit Guu often, this time was a little disappointed as food selection is limited and it was extremely busy. We feel sorry for the staffs that it seemed under staff for a busy place right in the heart of downtown.

First time to eat there. Food was excellent. I'm impressed with the presentation and quality of fish. I had sashimi and my wife had special fish fry. All was very good. We plan on coming back to this restaurant next time we're in Vancouver.

Great food and a great option to Guu Original - I come here for the Chicken Karrage Curry that's offered on their lunch menu; the chicken is crispy and juicy at the same time and the curry is delicious with a perfect bite of spice in my opinion.

My wife and I bounce back and forth between Original Guu and Guu Toramasa whenever we are wanting some Izakya food and experience. We really don't have a favourite, it depends on table availability and our agenda. The best thing about Guu Toramasa is that they are able to handle bigger groups at one table. The menu is a bit different between the two restaurants, but there are some similar items.

Polite and authentic Japanese servers and dishes. Fresh sashimi and delicious saba. Quick and attention to detail. My family loved it and it was our lunch for CNY.

First time visiting, had great time with my friends. Stayed for happy hour and dinner. Happy hours is a great deal. Foods, services, prices are good. Loved original white sangria that made from sake. You must try.

The food here was delicious! Their sushi is so good and fresh. The service was kind and let us know what their favourites were from the menu as well. The sushi chef even personally delivered our sushi platter to us! The vibe is very reminiscent of eateries I’ve been to in Japan. I would definitely recommend this place to others.
