The food was amazing. Very similar to the food we had in Tokyo. The meat was so soft and flavorful. It just melts in your mouth. We went on Christmas Day so had to make a reservation. We were there the night before but could not get reservations for over 3 hours later. I would try again next time in Vancouver.

Fun experience, love grilling our own meats so you can eat at your own pace. Meats were very tasty and tender. Did not have to use any of their sauces as this took away from the taste.

Food was excellent. Ceiling vents, lamps and walls were covered in layers of grease mold. One waiter was excellent, but our waiter often left us for long periods. We had to hunt down people for glasses of water, napkins, and at the end they forgot we were in the restaurant and were surprised to find us still waiting for our bill. We had to remind them desert was included. So A on food, C+ on service, B on cleanliness.

Overcharged me $30 (I payed $80 instead of $50) and the waiter said it was because I ordered a drink and the corn cheese that it added up to $80. I wasn’t given the itemized bill until after I paid which showed that my bill should have been $50. The waiter then refunded me the wrong amount which I had to show my bank statement to prove. The waiter never once apologized and it was annoying that he tried to keep telling me that I was wrong and I had to show him the receipt and bank statement to prove my point.

We’ve come to this place many times (once every 3-4 weeks) and have always had mostly good experience. Everything went really well for the first hour, our main server was attentive and we got what we needed. Until… she disappeared after (understandably she might have ended her shift) but other servers continued to help clear our table till then. Now, we certainly know of the 2-hr limit on each table and we’re barely past our 1st hour when a male server started coming to ask if we needed anything else (hint: wanting us to leave). My partner continued to order few more drinks (which were brought to him). BUT, he and other servers stopped clearing our tables EVEN WHEN we clearly stacked the used dishes and everything on the side… ready to be taken away! Plus, coming back to see if we want the bill! Needless to say, we agreed for the bill and left with way less than our standard tip we normally generously give. What an irritating experience! One server’s poor work destroyed all the great service his colleagues have done for us. Such a shame.

Notice most recent reviews are quite negative: Overall dishonest business where service is poor and deals aren’t honored. Don’t bother booking the OpenTable deals for any group events or at least be open to getting screwed. They’ll give you the runaround and won’t honor the advertised deal and blame it on the app. Meanwhile the app team will blame the restaurant and nobody cares. It shows in the service as well - very difficult to get service throughout the meal for anything outside of when they first bring the food to you. Also no storage for coats/bags at the booths. Do NOT recommend this place when there are more honest quality places that serve good bbq.
