Great location with savory fresh ingredients. Kitchen was slow but the fantastic location help the wait. Great GF options and they have cauliflower pita bread.

We have been going to Halani for several years now. It had become our favorite along this coast because of their gluten free options and delicious food. However, now they have gone with a Mediterranean menu? The delicious blackened ahi dinner is now a thin ahi steak with a tomato relish? Kabobs with no fresh fish besides shrimp? No truffle fries? No gluten free chocolate crunch cake? We were very disappointed in our meal, but we do love the hostess, Venessa, and our waitress, Ashley. We live here part time, but we won’t be going back until the menu changes. Also, the Ha Bar dropped their ahi sandwich and Makai’i salad? Our favorites. Hoping for more well rounded variety in the future.

A great meal at a great spot on the Big Island, had the Wagyu Strip Steak, very much worth it, dont miss out on the olive oil gelato and baclava!

Tiny portions for a big price tag. The food was good but not $200 dinners worth of good. Nice ambience lovely setting and Charlie our server was amazing. We probably would not come back.

Really liked the food from their new Mediterranean menu, particularly the balloon bread with hummus. The two of us shared five smaller menu items and enjoyed them all (balloon bread, chicken kabab, bucatini, broccolini, and chocolate torte).

The food now is Mediterranean and Moroccan. They need to go back to their old more traditional and accessible menus!

The Mauna Lani is a lovely property and the Halani is well appointed BUT the service (for which they tagged a mandatory $265 fee onto our bill) was non-existent. We tried several times - unsuccessfully - to order beverages with our brunch. No one ever came to the table. I rooted through the staffing station myself for clean silverware and then distributed it to my family. The food was good and there was plenty of variety, but it was not worth being treated with disdain and not worth the price we paid. It felt like SNL meets White Orchid. We won't go back.

Space is great. Menu is super appealing, but the execution fell a bit flat. Service was friendly, but sometimes went missing. Overall a descent experience, but not great for the price point.
