Local Jones is a bustling New American Restaurant and Neighborhood Bar in the Cherry Creek neighborhood of Denver. Friends and soon to be friends come together to celebrate the things we cherish: great food, great wine, great company from morning to night. Unfortunately, the service is not supportive of the overall experience. We sat for 25 minutes before our tea arrived and the cocktails we ordered came about ten minutes after or 35 minutes after we ordered. The food arrived sometime after. The server avoided us until the end when it was tip time. The food overall was good, as was the tea. There is something about being ignored for nearly thirty minutes that doesn’t sit well and marred the experience.

Essentially, it was too expensive for what it was. Meaning, the food was good, but the ambience was lacking. For two steak and frite meals it was over $90. By the time you add in two glasses of wine, which were not cheap or that good, the total Including tip was $190. For a little more money, we could’ve gone to Shanahan‘s or Ocean Prime or Narrative or any other restaurant that serves quality food but with a much better ambience and lower noise level. We will be not be back anytime soon.

Disappointing Thanksgiving meal this year. Slow and spotty service, luke warm food, background music a bit loud. Last year was great. But not so much this year.

Thanksgiving dinner- cold turkey and stuffing. The cranberries were bitter, and the mashed potatoes were only lukewarm and lumpy. Hard to mess up Thanksgiving food but they sure did. Desserts were uninspired and average. The pecan pie and pumpkin pie appeared (and tasted) like they had just come from the supermarket’s dessert section. Service was disinterested and generally absent

We went for Thanksgiving dinner. While the food was delicious, the Thanksgiving turkey plates all arrived to our table cold. Food was great. Temperature was not.
